Existence
 
Slowly
The room grew brighter each day
Until the dark clouds emerged
Back with the seasons changing
The light that entered
Now dark again
Flicker of ray, now just a glimmer
 
Rooms dark again
Curtains drawn
Suppose to be temporary
But the horizon never seems to end

Kendrick

There are not many moments in life where you can remember the first time you heard a particular artist or musician and knew you were a fan immediately. In the late summer of 2011, I remember the moment I first heard Kendrick Lamar. My brother had just burned me The Game's R.E.D. Album and I was listening to the intro. The second track, "The City" came on and I was already blown away by the melodic, soulful beat accompanied by the female vocals that sounded like a gospel followed by The Game's verse. And then I heard Kendrick Lamar.  At that moment, I knew Kendrick Lamar was unlike anyone I had ever heard before. What is "Devil In A New Dress?"  Devil In A New Dress is about looking at something not just for what it is, but what it could be. When it comes to fashion, you can look at an item of clothing and wonder 'what would I wear this with?' The question isn't about looking at the item individually, but rather how it could be thrown together with the right accessories, shoes, or jacket and instantly make an ensemble flow. Nike Women's Marathon

Nike Women's Marathon This was my second year running a half in the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. My experience this time around was way better than the first and I know it's because I got to run with my best friend and partner in crime, Daisy. That's Daisy on the left!! A few facts about the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco: 1. It is the largest women's marathon in the world with more than 30,000 people participating this year. 2. This year was the 10th anniversary of the run. 3. All finishers of the race receive a Tiffany & Co. necklace. 4. The scenery is amazing. 5. The hills suck. When my friend Daisy and I got to San Francisco the day before for the expo, the energy in the city was electric. We walked around the expo for a little while taking pictures, getting free stuff, and checking out all the new Nike gear. After we got our packets, we headed over to the Nike store.
