Sephora Goodies!

So after about a week of trying out all of these new goodies, I think I can now give a fair review of how everything is working out. I'm going to start with my favorite:

  1. Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation: This is single handedly THE BEST foundation I have ever had. I have been using BB creams or tinted moisturizer lately because I want a little bit of coverage but not too much. This foundation is really light like a tinted moisturizer, but has the perfect amount of coverage. The liquid is white when it comes out of the bottle and then pigments to the color of your skin as soon as you apply it. Literally, the BEST.
  2. Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumper: Lip plumper is my new favorite thing. I have thinner lips and using this gloss gives a little added volume. Beware, there is a tingling sensation that is not for everyone. I happen to like it, but some people may feel like their lips are burning. Use with caution!
  3. BB Thickening Spray: I first started using Bumble and Bumble products about five years ago. I love all of their hair styling products. I use BB thickening spray when I blow dry my hair to give some extra volume because my hair is very fine. This thickening spray works great for your hair the next day and does not weigh it down. You just spray some on your roots and use your hand to build texture.
  4. YSL Rouge Volupt Shine paired with Moxie Lip Liner: This lip color LASTS!! I have been wanting a deep purple lipstick and I found the perfect one. It goes on a lot lighter when you apply to your lip. It comes in 18 different shades in a beautiful YSL embroidered tube. I paired it with Bare Minerals Moxie Lip Liner to set the color and make it last through out the day. It did not disappoint!
  5. Stila Eye Liner:  I love liquid eyeliners with felt tips. I have a shaky hand so I can never make my liner even when I don't have something to apply pressure with. This eyeliner has a lasting color and can be worn all day. The best part is it doesn't smudge!
  6. Celebrity Eyelashes: I haven't worn these yet because I haven't had a reason to. I probably will at some point this weekend so I will take a raincheck on these!!
This was the best make up shopping trip I have had in a long time. I usually am not as happy with my purchases, but the nice thing about Sephora is that you can browse around for hours and not feel pressured to buy anything. I used to always buy my make up from make up counters and could never say no to anything. I would end up with make up I never wore, didn't like, and spent over $100 in the process. Shopping at Sephora gives you more control over buying things you will actually wear and the ability to sample everything while you are in the store. Devil In A New Dress

What is "Devil In A New Dress?"  Devil In A New Dress is about looking at something not just for what it is, but what it could be. When it comes to fashion, you can look at an item of clothing and wonder 'what would I wear this with?' The question isn't about looking at the item individually, but rather how it could be thrown together with the right accessories, shoes, or jacket and instantly make an ensemble flow. It's about looking at old styles and adding some modern flare. It's about opening your mind to new possibilities that are edgy and break the rules while making the new ones up as you go along.  "Devil In A New Dress" is a song by Kanye West who is my favorite artist. In the song he raps,  "Put your hands to the constellations, The way you look should be a sin, you my sensation I know I'm preaching to the congregation We love Jesus but you done learned a lot from Satan" This is  what Devil In A New ...

Make America Think Again

What happened to the days when you could agree to disagree? When you wanted to be in a room full of people with different opinions so that you could have an intellectual conversation and stimulate the growth of your mind? When everyone didn’t feel the need to say you’re wrong and fire you from their life because you thought differently? Today, people get offended by everything. You can’t say anything without pissing someone off. I would imagine this has always been the case but no one ever spoke up about it. I’ve been surrounded by people with different views my whole life. Been a Democrat, a republican, only to realize I live in the gray. I can’t fit all of my ideals in to one box so I live outside of it. Since I have been on both sides, I see both points of view. I know the argument someone else will make before they even make it. I respect everyone’s opinion. Since we are all entitled to that— our opinion. I’ve researched so many theories, watched a lot of documentaries, spent hou...

Lebron James is a Los Angeles Laker

I can still remember the tears streaming down my face on April 13, 2016 when Kobe scored 60 points against the Utah Jazz in his last game as a Los Angeles Laker. The Lakers hadn't made the playoffs in three years and it had been six since they won a championship. It made my heart ache to know that Kobe retired with a Lakers record of 17-65, the worst in Lakers history. My tears were for all the joy Kobe had brought to LA mixed with tears that the organization's front office was being run into the ground. As Kobe bid his farewell to LA, I shifted my attention to the teams in the playoffs. Next to Kobe, my next favorite players were Kevin Durant (r.i.p. my fandom 2008-2016) and Russell Westbrook. The Oklahoma City Thunder were up against the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. They managed to gain a 3-1 lead against the reigning champions. And just like that; it slipped away and the Warriors won the series sending them to the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers. ...
