Nike Women's Marathon

Nike Women's Marathon

This was my second year running a half in the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco. My experience this time around was way better than the first and I know it's because I got to run with my best friend and partner in crime, Daisy.

That's Daisy on the left!!

A few facts about the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco:
1. It is the largest women's marathon in the world with more than 30,000 people participating this year.
2. This year was the 10th anniversary of the run.
3. All finishers of the race receive a Tiffany & Co. necklace.
4. The scenery is amazing.
5. The hills suck.

When my friend Daisy and I got to San Francisco the day before for the expo, the energy in the city was electric. We walked around the expo for a little while taking pictures, getting free stuff, and checking out all the new Nike gear. After we got our packets, we headed over to the Nike store.

The cool thing about this race is that every participant's name is posted on the Nike store wall. This year, mine was at the very top, but Daisy was able to take a picture by her name.

Yay! Daisy found her name!

Outside of the Nike store waiting in line to go in

The Nike store was completely crowded of women grabbing all of the merchandise Nike made for the run. While we were shopping, my boyfriend spotted Shay Mitchell from Pretty Little Liars. I knew she was running the race and had told my boyfriend and good thing because he's the one who pointed her out to us! Shay was walking around in the store like she was any other person. Luckily, Daisy and I got a picture!

Our buddy Shay!!! No big deal.

The race started at 6:30am in Union Square. It was still dark out, but there was a DJ playing music to get you pumped. Of course he was playing, "Girls Run The World" by Beyonce. The first five miles were smooth and then the beast of a hill appeared. After that, there were a lot of other baby monster hills that were exhausting. Luckily, even when I thought I was going to die, I had Daisy there to keep me going and we finished in 2 hours and 21 minutes. I beat my time from last year by 6 minutes so it definitely could have been worse considering I didn't train very much. All in all, it was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do it again next year!

What you can't see in this picture is the person taking it who we didn't even think got a picture

Yayyyy we're done

And it's cold

We brought back the back to back pose!!

Yay us!!!

Crossing the finish line!!

Right after I almost died and right before we finished!!! Woo hoo!!

Behind These Castle Walls

Summer may be over but that doesn't mean you have to stop wearing shorts! Everyone who knows me knows I can't get enough of the urban look. Or skulls. I love everything that is spikes and skulls. Today was raining all day so looking at this picture makes me realize how much I'm going to miss those beautiful, sunny days. I still say you can wear shorts, though. Just throw on some cute leggings or tights and you will be able to stay warm and still wear shorts with any kind of weather! In other news, make sure to check out the Pusha T album. It is dope! I will have a review posted soon. Until next time! Outfit Jacket: Foreign Exchange Shirt: H&M Shorts: Lulu Necklace: Foreign Exchange Shoes: Madden Girl

Make America Think Again

What happened to the days when you could agree to disagree? When you wanted to be in a room full of people with different opinions so that you could have an intellectual conversation and stimulate the growth of your mind? When everyone didn’t feel the need to say you’re wrong and fire you from their life because you thought differently? Today, people get offended by everything. You can’t say anything without pissing someone off. I would imagine this has always been the case but no one ever spoke up about it. I’ve been surrounded by people with different views my whole life. Been a Democrat, a republican, only to realize I live in the gray. I can’t fit all of my ideals in to one box so I live outside of it. Since I have been on both sides, I see both points of view. I know the argument someone else will make before they even make it. I respect everyone’s opinion. Since we are all entitled to that— our opinion. I’ve researched so many theories, watched a lot of documentaries, spent hou

Lebron James is a Los Angeles Laker

I can still remember the tears streaming down my face on April 13, 2016 when Kobe scored 60 points against the Utah Jazz in his last game as a Los Angeles Laker. The Lakers hadn't made the playoffs in three years and it had been six since they won a championship. It made my heart ache to know that Kobe retired with a Lakers record of 17-65, the worst in Lakers history. My tears were for all the joy Kobe had brought to LA mixed with tears that the organization's front office was being run into the ground. As Kobe bid his farewell to LA, I shifted my attention to the teams in the playoffs. Next to Kobe, my next favorite players were Kevin Durant (r.i.p. my fandom 2008-2016) and Russell Westbrook. The Oklahoma City Thunder were up against the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. They managed to gain a 3-1 lead against the reigning champions. And just like that; it slipped away and the Warriors won the series sending them to the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
